We are twin sisters and die-hard fans of Sourav Ganguly and Team India. We live in the USA and are in high school. We love watching cricket and never miss a single India tournament. We have NO association with Sourav or any of his family members. We are just fans like you.

 

To us, Sourav is one of the best cricketers of contemporary times. He is one of the most elegant south paws in the world. He fascinates us and we know pretty much everything about him and personally own two of his books. We are really impressed with Sourav’s captaincy. Being Indians, we can understand the pressure a captain is under but despite all that, Sourav has taken his team to dazzling heights and it is not a surprise to see that he is India’s most successful captain (in just four years). Moreover, he single handedly handles opponents like Steve Waugh and Ricky Ponting. And who can forget the captain’s knocks he comes up with every now and then, like the mesmerizing 144 in Brisbane. We are very proud of the Maharaj and wish him the very best always!

The Start

How does it feel to launch your own website when you are still in Grade 10? Let’s tell you how it all started.

We think we got our cricking genes from dad.  He can still bring down the roof when a wicket falls.  My twin sister and I join in the chorus.  Mom watches, but only between her kitchen chores and Hindi soap operas.  When we were in India six years ago, we watched cricket but were not too crazy about it.  The fever must have caught on from the world cup played in South Africa when we watched, by a stroke of luck, matches telecast in the USA by Dish TV.  What an exhilarating feeling that was with team India on cloud nine and Sourav the most talked about Captain on planet Earth.

That was the first time we saw Sourav on TV. Since then, we have become die-hard fans of Sourav and have not missed a single India tournament.  Eager to know it all about him, we read books on him and surfed every site for Sourav between our rigorous school work, but not one gave us EVERYTHING about our hero.  What a shame, we thought.  Then the great idea struck – why don’t we make our OWN website on Sourav! Our first attempts were with Microsoft Word.  In 3 months we had over 200 pages made and had collected every possible information on Sourav. The ride up to now was so exciting that we decided in July 2004 to publish the site on our own domain and let other fans share the excitement!

 

Our aim is to make this website your one stop for anything and everything on Sourav. Yes, it is hard work, especially now when Sourav is in the news almost everyday, but we are committed to making this the best Sourav site ever.  So keep visiting and let us know how you feel.  Your ideas, comments and words of encouragement will keep us going.
