    Date: September 1997

     Performance: Sourav won 4 Man of the Match awards in this 5 ODI series  against Pakistan.  He

     also took  15  wickets  at  an average of  10.66,  including a career best  5-16 in the 3rd  ODI. He

     scored  a  total  of  222  runs, at  an  average of  44.4.  This  included  a  75*  in  the  4th  match

     and a 96 in the final. India won the series 4-1.

     Series: Sahara Cup vs. Pakistan

    Date: March-April 1998

     Performance: Sourav  scored  278  runs at  an  average of  69.50. This included a solid 130* in

     the  2nd  ODI  vs.  SL  and 2 fifties in  the  5th and 6th matches. Sourav also  took  6 wkts in the 

     series, at 17 runs a piece. India lost the final to Pakistan by 123 runs.

     Performance: Sourav  made  89 runs  in the  series, which  included  an unbeaten  54 in the 1st

     match. He also took 3 wickets in the  2nd match. Sourav captained India to a 2-1 victory over the

     West Indies.

    Date: November 1999

     Performance: Sourav  made 301 runs  in the series at an  average of  75.25. He scored a  huge

     153* in the 3rd ODI and a match-winning 86 in the final ODI. India won the series 3-2.

     Series: New Zealand in India

    Date: December 2000

     Performance: In this 5 ODI series, Sourav took 5 wickets and scored 264 runs at an average of

     88! The skipper's amazing show with the bat led India to a 4-1 win.

     Performance: Sourav made 136 runs at an average of 45.33. This included a 50 in the 3rd ODI.

     runs, average 82 and strike rate of over 79. Scores of 62, 48, and 58* won Dada the Man of the

     Series award and helped India win the series 2-1.
